Clinical Applications of the Tenax™ Laser Resistant Endotracheal Tube

Laser surgery of the airway requires specialized airway management to help protect both the patient and the surgical team. During procedures involving the larynx, vocal folds, trachea and upper airway, the endotracheal tube may be positioned within the laser field, making the selection of an appropriate airway device an important part of the overall laser safety strategy.

The Tenax™ Laser Resistant Endotracheal Tube is intended for endotracheal intubation during surgical procedures involving CO₂ (10.60 μm), KTP (532 nm) and 445 nm Blue Laser systems when endotracheal intubation is required. Its construction combines an aluminum-wrapped shaft, a smooth silicone outer sheath, and a DualCuff™ design to support airway management during laser-assisted procedures. It should always be used in accordance with the Instructions for Use and established laser safety protocols.
